Dr. Andrew Conkey earned his PhD from Texas A&M College Station in Interdisciplinary Engineering in 2007. He earned his Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University – Kingsville. Over 19 years he has taught mechanical engineering related courses at Texas A&M University–Kingsville, Texas A&M, Texas A&M at Qatar, and Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. He has also co-authored three books (Dynamics in Engineering Practice, Is My Machine Ok?, Trouble Shooting Rotating Machinery) involving dynamics and vibrations and machinery diagnostics. His dissertation focused on the application of a fiber optic based sensor for machinery diagnostics such as shaft motion and vibration measurements. His hobbies include wildlife photography, wood working, and general tinkering.
