Dr. Nelda Mier currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Community Health Sciences at the Texas A&M School of Public Health. For more than 20 years, Dr. Mier has been imparting high-impact, quality education to undergraduate and graduate students in public health and communication at prestigious universities in the United States and Mexico. She earned her doctorate in Health Education from the University of New Mexico, and in 2002 she joined the School of Public Health in McAllen, TX, where she currently teaches and mentors BSPH and MPH students. Dr. Mier has conducted research in chronic disease prevention using a participatory approach among populations living in the border and Mexico, and she has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles in international and national journals. Dr. Mier is also a Certified Mindfulness Teacher and Certified Virtual Instructor.
