Student Organizations

The Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen (HECM) houses several student organizations. By participating in student organizations, you have the opportunity to create meaningful relationships within the Aggie community, further strengthen your leadership skills and build professional experience.

Current Organizations

The Aggie Humane Society promotes compassion and making a difference in our community. The organizations provides opportunities for students to participate in volunteer work, educational events, and advocacy efforts aimed at fostering a more humane and caring environment for all.

The McAllen Aggies All In organization is dedicated to serving others and the Rio Grande Valley community, providing the highest level of compassion and service while fulfilling duties as valued volunteer members.

The McAllen Agricultural Economics Club focuses on developing students into leaders in agricultural economics and related fields. It provides a platform for students to collaborate and network, and it promotes social responsibility through community outreach events.

The McAllen Aggie BSM organization welcomes Aggies interested in studying and sharing the word of God and message of Jesus Christ.

Through the Border Pre-Med Society, students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from medical experts across the region. Members will also be able to participate in volunteer work, network with other students and access resources to prepare for the application to medical school.

The Pre-Dental Association allows students the opportunity to network with those interested in pursuing dentistry.

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), provides members opportunities to gain broader insight into the engineering profession by hosting meetings with practicing engineers, arranging field trips to research and engineering establishments, sponsoring student projects of engineering interest, and participating in local SAE Section activities.

The McAllen Student Advisory Council (MSAC) is the representative organization for the student body at the Higher Education Center at McAllen (HECM). The MSAC provides a forum for free and open discussion of matters affecting students and promotes the general welfare of the student body by serving as an advocate for student issues and presenting the student perspective to campus administration, faculty and college committees.

The Texas Society of Professional Engineers at Texas A&M Higher Education Center at McAllen (TSPE-HECM) proudly serves as the flagship representative for the Rio Grande Valley chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
